Decent music. moral of the review is: whore look alikes and dbags aren't so bad to hang with. You should give them a chance, judger of book covers. “ Crobar isn't for everyone, but I happen to not be claustrophobic or mind house music. I love the scene: the mix of house and techno music is intense, both in style and volume. The Saturday I was there, an enthusiastic live drummer got the crowd going early on and a go-go dancer (complete with plumage) did some fancy acrobatic work. The venue is a large warehouse-esque room with multiple floors, creatively split: there's a VIP/special parties area, a central dance floor crammed full of enthusiastic, writhing partygoers, scattered seating, and multiple bars. Dig the lighting. Even with the random annoyances[1][2] I experienced, it's hard for me to dislike Crobar since it's a place I'd return, thanks to a healthy crowd and thumping music. Your mileage may vary. [1] Irked I wasn't informed that my guest list was "free before midnight" otherwise I would have arrived earlier. Luckily the folks with me practically party here 24/7, so the friendly door staffer waved us through the VIP line. [2] The bartenders are none too creative - I asked one for a light shot, but got a shot of Patron instead. Not sure he heard me, but I'd like to think I yell loud enough. Of course, Patron shots aren't cheap, but hey, I didn't pay cover. ”
